Today I want to share some of my secret weapons that I used and made the campaign possible
Step 3: Use list builders
“What are list builders?” You asked. They are kind of safe list but more targeted on “make money online” or “Internet marketing” niche. Here I will explain a couple of benefits and features of list builders that I use.
Warnings: some list builder will “flood” your inboxes.
Some one doesn’t like list builders because once they sign up, they will receive a lot emails about offers, and flood through their Inboxes.
I used to think that when I first joined ListDotCom, a Mike Filsname’s service back at few years ago.
I did receive a lot of emails and I personally don’t think it works. It just looks like a big safelist sager where everyone double optins to the system and start emailing to each other.
However, after I joined some make money online affiliate programs, I began having a problem. I don’t know how to promote the program (using free advertising) because at that time I didn’t have my own list, nor I knew there was any list builder to promote those sites! So what did I do? I simply unsubscribe those programs. What a pity! (because they are good program and could make me money) So I decided to build a list. But How?
How do you build a list
The best way I learned is actually you give away something related to your products or services that you are offering to your site visitors free and encourage them to sign up your newsletter. As an example, here is a piece of keyword research software that I am giving away. As you’ve seen (screen shoot below) before they get the downloads, they need to fill up their names and primary email addresses in a form and in return, I gave away the free product. So how do I promote that offer?
I heard contributing to a giveaway site is a good way to build a list and promote free offer fast. So I joined.
After doing that, I also learned that I have to get referrals to that JV giveaway site in order to boost up my gift ranking that is in simple language get more subscribers see a detail explanation here (JV giveaway secrets)
So the problem, how do I get more referrals? I quickly learned list builders is the way. The first one I used was ViralURL. It is a free website that lets you to cloak your affiliate link, email ad tracker, list builder, banner exchange all in one place! It pretty looks like of what Brent Ingrim’s latest website “Web Traffic Juggernaut”. Now, ViralURL has both and free option. For free option, you can enjoy all the features above mentioned but you have to build your own list before you can send any emails advertisements. For upgrade members,depends on your upgrade level, you can send an email up to 3,000 members on every 3 days! At the beginning I didn’t upgrade until I saw Todd Gross and Kenneth Koh mentioned the level (100+ clicks, in 2 of the mailings) of response or clicks that they had for their campaigns. Therefore I began to think it worths the money of upgrading. Certainly, I go ahead, but I missed the one time offer opportunity so I had to pay a higher rate than other people. So if you have the budget I strongly recommend you take the one time offer upgrade and it worths it. (by the way it is best used with free offers and encourage newsletter sign up)

After I upgraded, I immediately used the system mailer and send an email about the first giveaway site that I ever joined. Guess what? I found there was no one signed up! What? Proson you recommended me to sign up ViralURL but there was no response!? Hold on, my friend. The first email that I sent using ViralURL was 0900 WIB, that is UTC +0700 time zone. Well, it was 2000 EST on a Friday evening. That was a bad time right? Who would read emails at that time? So no one signed up to the giveaway site it would be normal. After that I began figuring out the best time to send an responsive email should be around 0900 EST or 0900 PST (I.e. around lunch time EST), by the time I figured out what’s wrong with my first emailing, the giveaway event was closed.
The second giveaway event that I used viral URL was Odinn Soresen Dadd’ys giveaway, this time I’ve got better response rate, total of 410 of a 2 weeks event. I am a Gold/per year member , so for every 3 days I can send an email to 3000 members randomly. That is on average, I’ve got about 100 clicks per mailing wow! That’s not bad right?
So ViralURL is definitely a secret weapon to most marketers.
