Successful Viral Marketing elements
To create a successful viral marketing campaign, according to Butterfly Manuscriptby Mike Filsaime, it has to be “Buzz worthy” What this means, basically something is worth while getting people to talk about. It may be a popular topics in a given period of time, something funny, controversial, new , easy to spread and most importantly what’s is it in for me (WIIFM)? . It will not spread if it is noting to do with anyone e.g. Free tips on saving you gas mileage.
An example of something worth while getting people to talk about: launch of Apple iphone, Ipod,
Nintendo Wii, Sony PSP, and so on.
Another successful case was what Burger King “discounted” their whoppers last year. Burger King created a buzz by telling their customers, whoppers their branded burger was discounted.
