Last time we talked why you want to split test your Pay Per Click landing page, today I want to show how you can set a A/B testing step by step by using the website optimizer. Before you can set it up, you need to register a Google Adwords first. You can get one by click this link here.
How to set up the Google website optimizer?
Here are the steps:
- First login to your adwords account at adwords.google.com
- Then click on the website optimizer link at the menu (shown in the figure)
- After you clicked on the website optimizer link, you will see as follow: click on the “create a new experiment link”
- click on the A/B testing link
- As I described in the previous post, you need to have two versions of your landing page ready and the sales or newsletter sign up conversion page ready.
- Input the experiment name, the version A and B of landing pages in the corresponding fields
- and finally the conversion page in the conversion page field
- Watch the video below provided by Google to have a full step by step walk through.

You have now set up A/B testing on your landing page.
