You may have heard a marketing term called “viral marketing” and it is the most powerful to get trucks loads of visitors to your site in a short period of time. A typical example will be the latest Mike Filsaime’s Butterfly Marketing 2.0 giveaway which the server was reported “crashed” at the launch date! Well why the campaign was so powerful? Because Mike is giving away not only his best selling butterfly marketing manuscript but also his $8,000 butterfly marketing software that generates thousand and thousand of dollars to a lot of people! If you have been marketing online for a while you certainly have heard marketers will give away a quality front end products and later on, they show you an upgrade which costs $27-$97. No matter the visitors buy the one time upgrade or not, the site owner immediately register them as an affiliate and they will earn 60-75% commission if they just tell other people that there is a quality free product here and they buy the one time offer.

A picture below shows the concept pretty well of what viral marketing is about. Let’s say if you only refer two people to the site. The 2 people other refer 4 people to come along, and those 4 people refer another 2 person each, you will start seeing the power. Basically it is mathematical formula of 2^x where x is the how deep your referrals goes into the organization.

Ok, so what to do with plugins and how do you get “truck loads of traffic” out of it? There are few social Wordpress plugins that you can use where it potentially generates huge amount traffic if your post is “right”.

1. Birdfeeder.Bird feeder will post to your twitter’s profile every time you publish a blog article. With twitter being so hot lately, I am sure it will attract certain traffic to your blog if both your post and the time you publish is right to most readers.
2. Wordbook Facebook plugin. Facebook is the top 10 most visited web site these days according to Alexa and what this plugin does pretty similar to birdfeeder but instead of twitter it post to you facebook’s profile. So it saves you time by cross posting your article to popular social platforms
3. the other plugin that I found quite interesting is Comuluv.com. This little plugin shows the latest post by default on the installed host blog owner blog when you comment their articles. e.g

This alone will generate substantial traffic by commenting others people blog. I have got that installed so make sure you comment here frequently as well.

For now on, I will shift my focus toward anything contain a viral element in my campaign and I will constantly update this blog where to have work less but will generate more result in return so please stay tune to my thought here.

Method #1: Buy a List From Vendors

Well yes, for this method, you will get a list but how quality is that? My opinion, don’t waste your money. They are very low quality because most likely the leads are extracted from for example, newspaper sign ups.
Certainly there are some newspaper readers may interest your products eventually but there are better ways to get you a list that show a more interest to what you offer than a newspaper list.

Method #2: Co-registration

Sometimes when you sign up a free service such as a free web hosting, or a web tool, they will ask you if you would like receive some information from their partners? That information is what we called co-registration. The partner pay for a fee to the site owner to have an option that allows their site visitors to optin to the partners email list. This method work better than the first one but you may also receive a higher chance of unsubscribe since the subscriber may not know in the first place they have sign up for others people’s email list other than the original site owners. So to me, I’d rather learn the right method of building my own.

Method #3: Buy an Ezine Ad

This method work similar to the Method 1 but instead you buy a list of email subscribers, you ask the vendor to send the offer for you once usually. This method probably the best among all the paid methods since the company offers this service normally gives you the detail of what their demographics will be such as income, and age group and also what kind of offers their members are most interested in. Often the vendor will also give you a detail report on how many clicks that your offer successfully receive.

Method #4: Build Your Own

Just copy and paste the list that you’ve found above
and press “saves changes”

Step 3:

Submit your intereting blog posts to social
bookmarking sites like Digg.com, Stumble Upon,
Delicious, Propeller, and Reddit.

Keep your title compelling and also write a short
description about your blog post.
E.g, Recently I have enabled my blog to have “do follow”
comment. If I want to submit the blog post, I will
write something like

“Gain backlinks from my blog by comment 5 times!”
We all know the benefit of do follow comment link,
I have enabled it and with definetly getting more
traffic. I am constantly building backlinks and it will
definitely gaining Page rank and traffic so start comment
now!”

step 4:

Submit your blog to some blog directories such as blogCatlog,
bloggeries and join their groups and discussions.
After you comment and made some post, leave your domain their
as signature

Step 5:

step up helper blogs on Xanga, wordpress, blogspot and link
back to your main blogs.

Step 6:

submit your articles to articles directories like Ezine articles,
goArticles, Articles Dashbroade, article base and link with your
main blogs in your author bio.

Step 7:

find a list of relevant blogs and comment on it.

There are other methods as well like submit your blog
Rss feed to feedburner, some Rss directories and increase
it blog traffic.

The above steps should keep you going
for a while
