How Do You Rank Your Site in Google Local Domain?

This is a quite common questions that most webmasters asks. So how do you do that?
here are the few steps: (I am assuming you have a webmaster account) Watch the following video for explanation.
- Log on to Google Webmaster tools and if you haven’t got one, go to gmail.com and registered an account there for free.
- Once you have logged in, click on the domain you wish to associate a preferred location to it.
- click on the “Tools”, then “set geographic target”
- Click on the “ radio button
- Click on “Edit” and choose the location you preferred in the drop down menu
- Once finished click on “save”
- Now you have finished the set preferred ranking for particular location
- To ensure you’ve got top ranking for the location, gathering back links from the location you are interested.

Good advice. I have a blog which got featured on page 1 of Google in my country. What I did was piggyback on a top local blog directory. I was surprised to find it out the following day. Other webmasters also add their country names to keywords (e.g.blogging Australia).

Yeah, if you want your site to target your local market, this is the way to go. Other will think gather links from the local regions help as well.
But for this site, I think I will target the US market rather local ones since most of my traffic comes from the US and Canada.
