Last time we showed you the method of SEO link building via web directories submission, this time I want to show you about another method I used and got results, namely article submissions.
Benefits of Article Submissions
First you may think, “this method is very tedious, I have to write articles then do submissions, why not just do web directories and it seems a lot faster!” Yes I agree, it takes more time, but article submission works better than directories submission since:
- Always Free. Not all web directories are free, but article directories are almost always free
- Always allow linking with your inner web pages. You have to remember search engines rank web pages and not sites. So when you gathering links for your inner web pages, you are creating multiple search engine entry points to your sites. Hence more traffic and income for you.
- Always allow your targeted keywords on the incoming links (Anchored text links). Recall that, to get maximum benefits of your link building campaign, targeted keywords on your link text is the key but again not all free directories allow you to do that. They just allow your site name listed instead of the anchored text link. However, for article directories, you can always include at most two anchored text links in your author biography box.
Disadvantages of Articles Submission
- Takes longer. You need to write an informational article at least 400 words that relevant to your site topics.
- Need to rewrite a unique version of your article to get approved and/or avoid search engine duplicate content filters. Make sure you rewrite a unique version of articles before you submit. Since, Google will filter out duplicate content eventually and only accept one indexed copy of your articles
- Requires some quality. Before your article get approved, you do need to have some standard of writing skills. But don’t worry you can always get a cheap one by subscribing some private label content memberships then outsource the rewrite process to GetAfreelancer.com for instance.
The Article Submission Process
Once you have rewritten your article, you can the submit to directories such as Ezineartilces.com, Articlecity.com, AticleAlley.com, ArticlesBase.com etc. But make sure you use the method we discussed in our last article, “SEO: Does Your Link Count?” to check if the links are counted.
