Last time we’ve show you how to use ListJoe, ViralUrl, TheListAuction to get more sign ups, this time we will cover another strategies that most successful online marketers including Guido, used.

Credit Based Safelist Advertising

In general credit based safelist are safelists evolved to a better level. Safelists basically is a system that allows their member to email each other about their offers at any time. It was the system that most Internet marketers including Mike Filesaime used back perhaps 10 – 15 years ago where the Internet was still a brand new concept to most people. However, safelists members started to realized their inboxes are stuffed with advertisements and the useful information did not get through. Therefore they quickly learned to redirect all these email advertisements to services such as hotmail and never read those emails again!

To solve this problem credit based safelists were born. The system works like safe lists but they have a credit link embedded inside each mailing. For a member to send an email they first have to earn credits. In other words, they have to open the email, read it and click on the credit links before they can send their offers. Surely this is a better version of safelist but still have a problems if a member just open the email, skip all the message body and clicks on the credit links. So why their sign up rate generally aren’t that great.

How to Make Credit Based Safe List Work

Like many of you, I used to think they didn’t work. “No one was going to read those mails!”. Because it is a system looks like safe lists, 100 of 100 mailings per day! That’s just too many! But in fact I was wrong.

The reason I am using them because I learned from Guido Nussbaum on how the credit based safe lists could made you more sign ups when I was involved in Easter Joint Venture Giveaway 2008 as a contributor. (Joint Venture or JV giveaway by the way is a great way to get you more leads that we will cover later in part 5 of our series) and most credit based safelists are free. I want to get more sign up so I listened to Guido and signed up with his list of credit based safe list one by one.

The reasons why people says they don’t work because they were taking a wrong approach. Most people using credit based safelist are probably just started out internet marketing and they don’t have much budget on advertising. So instead of buying something, they want something for free. So to make them work, you will send some free offers to the members instead of your paid one. For instance, “reports that shows the members how one person got 5000 visitors in 6 months on his blog”, “Free step by step video that shows them how to make $2000 per week online”, that type of offers, always I will get some members to sign up my newsletter and get your free gifts. However, The sign up rate will NOT be as great as listjoe, viralurl, thelistauction etc may be 1% overall but the secrets here is to use the most traffic credit based safelists that are listed on TrafficHoopla, a user rating credit based safelist directory.

Sign up each of them above for free and if you have budget, I recommend you upgrade not just because I got paid but more importantly they give you more benefits like a higher mailing frequencies, (e.g. 2 a day, depends on the safelist system and the upgrade levels you’ve got) a personalization tag and the use of HTML mailing. With a personalization tag, usually you will get more responsive in the mailing and hence more sign ups.
