When you read most SEO blog posts, or freelance jobs requirements, they will say, the links must be:
- Have Google Page Rank 2+ on the Link Page
- Relevant to the sites
- No more than 30 outgoing links
- No javascript … blah blah blah…
- Links from Class C IP network
I am no problems with others but Links from Class C IP network!?! I am shocked! Why?
Links From Only from Class C IP Network is a myth!
What is an IP address anyway?
Before I give you the reason, let’s look at how today IP addresses work. The existing still in used IP address network is called IPv4 where the computer network industry categorized it in to 4 classes of network, named A, B, C, D and E. With Class D and E are reserved for something else. Which leaves A, B and C widely used nowadays.
A typical IP address consists of 4 octects (bytes) or groups of binary numbers (0 or 1) such as with the decimal notation of 123.27.117.89. Being 123 the first octect, 27 the second, 117 the third and 89 the forth. By definition, each group of numbers can only starts from 0 and ends with the maximum number of 255. So we classify class A network (only consider the first group of the numbers), starts from 0 – 126. Class B starts from 128 – 192. Class C starts from 193-223. With the missing 127 is reserved for the local computer.
Only Counts Class C network?
Thus, if links from only class C IP network is going to count towards the Google ranking calculation, that means you have to get links ONLY from websites that have IP addresses start with 193 to 223 and that’s it! But I can tell you only a very small portion of the entire web have the class C IP addresses. You can do a simple check with a command called “ping” in your windows command prompt. If you are going to ping Google.com for example, you will notice one of their data center IP is from “74.125.67.100″ that is a class A network IP. If you tried Standford university, (standford.edu), one of their IPs is 171.67.22.33, a class B network. You can also try IBM.com, GM.com, Target.com etc. You will find there are really little portion of the Internet are from Class C network.
Therefore, if you only get links from class C network, links from IBM.com, GM.com, target.com are not going to count! Do you think this make sense? To me the answer is obvious.
So the conclusion, getting links from Class C network only is a myth! You can get links from any classes of IPs as long as they are unique. That’s the end of it.
I hope this article do clear up the SEO myth around. Sometimes I really can’t stand with so much misconception and that’s why you need to have a professional to work with your campaign, and do not attempt to do it all by yourself!

Last time, we have covered seo link building methods like web directories submissions, article submissions and forum posting. Today I would like to show you more advanced techniques that I used – blog networks building. The benefits of blog network building is two fold.
1.) you have more control of what content as well as links you wish to post of this network
2.) most links are SEO friendly that is they are counted towards the search engine algorithm.
As for example, you can always include links that point to your main site and also, one way links to the members blogs in the network. See the sample diagram below;
I used all the free blogs to create the network but of course you can use a self hosted one. The main reasons are there are may be members that flag your post as spams so that they will be deleted.
The blue dotted lines in the diagram, are the one way links to a single member blog. For example, we create six free blogs and post six relevant articles on this blog network with links back to the main site, namely, blogger, squidoo, hubpages, xanga, livespaces and Yahoo! 360. Then we link squidoo with hubpages, hubpages with blogger, blogger with xanga, xanga with Yahoo 360. After that we can link blogger to squidoo, xanga to squidoo and livespaces to Squidoo. So that every member blogs will at least 4 one way links from their neighborhood. This strategy is what most super affiliate marketers use which I showed early on of how to obtain multiple SEO listing on a brand name product or search engine results that are under 1,000.000 in Google.
Anyway, this is more prefer model than others strategies I should say, because you don’t have to wait for approval like web directories submissions or article submissions, and you don’t have constraints like forum posting.
So go home and start building your own network and grows with unlimited number of backlinks every month.

PPC, shorthand for Pay-Per-Click advertising, is one of the most common forms of SEM, or Search Engine Marketing. One of the reasons for its prevalence is that it’s an extremely cost effective method for reaching a target market. Forbes Magazine has note that roughly 8 billion dollars is spent on PPC advertising yearly.
How does PPC Work?
The basic principles of PPC advertising are that different advertisers bid a value on various keyword phrases related to their website or product. Other people interested in the same keywords bid against you, and the person willing to pay a higher amount for the keyword is listed higher and in better areas on the search engine result pages.
Therefore the person that bids the most gets the highest listing and therefore the most views from prospective customers. However, it’s not an all or nothing endeavor. If you aren’t willing to pay the cost to be ranked the highest, you can pay a more moderate price per click and receive a more modest ranking, lower down on the first page or even on the second or third page of search engine results.
How can you effectively use PPC to make money with affiliate marketing?
Typically, an affiliate marketer only receives payment when somebody that clicked through their ads ends up making a purchase or becoming a real lead. So of course, the more people you have viewing your website and your ads, the more chances that people will click through to your advertisers, which will increase your revenues.
PPC however, which is literally short for Pay Per Click, is an easier way to make money than many other affiliate marketing programs because you get paid for clicks and don’t have to worry about whether or not somebody actually buys something. That makes it easier and quicker to earn money and provides less risk for your website.
Therefore adding a PPC program to your website increases your chances of success. Even if somebody isn’t interested in buying something through your website, they may be interested in something else, or will at least give something else a look. You can make money on people who only visit your site once for 10 seconds and never comes back again.
This will also help make your website stand out from the pack. You are providing greater resources to interested shoppers and establishing your credibility as a worthwhile place to shop and browse. Therefore the next time that somebody is looking for a related product once again, they will be more likely to come back to your website. And maybe this time they will actually buy something, which provides greater commissions and revenues.
As you can see adding a PPC affiliate program can directly lead to more money in your pocket. So how do you get paid? Depending on the program, you can receive anywhere from 30% to 80% of the advertiser’s bid to place their ad in a specific spot. So if somebody bid $1 for a particular keyword, you can see $.30 to $.80 just for one click of that ad.
Now, you can either put that money straight into your pocket or you can reapply that money and use it on your own PPC advertising. Many programs allow you to directly use the funds you earn for your own bidding. So you make money by advertising for others then you get free advertising for yourself, both of which lead to more visitors to your site and better targeted visitors as well.

Back to the days I built my first website, I was worried on how long I had to wait before Google notice my site and got indexed, at that time it was about 10-14 days with 3 domains at least, namely 2-hosts.com, 18affordablewebhosting.com and oneseoasia.com. Oneseoasia.com is a testing site, testing my SEO abilities, while others two are hosting site which I managed to sell hosting as my first online business. At that time, I was tweaking my websites, getting links and with the hope rank well in search engines. In fact some of my low competition keywords such as “seo asia”, “affordable Web hosting hong kong” did rank well in Google, (top 10). Later on, I found there are skills to make sites that index faster, some claimed less than 24 hours, some claimed 2 hours, etc. But in this post, I shows you what I know and works which got most of my website 10-14 days to get indexed in Google database.
(1) Getting links from high “Page Rank” site.
Page Rank basically is algorithm of Google that shows how important a web page is. The values typically start from 0-10; being 0 the less important while 10 the most important. To get links from high page rank site, these days is by using Web2.0 properties such as Squidoo, Hubpages, Wikipaint, WikiHow and something like that. (Their page rank are from All you have to do is write in some articles that related to your site topics and add a link back to your new site. Now all you have to do is gather links for your articles in Squidoo or Hubpages and get your site indexed faster. The reasons why I suggest you to add an article in Hugpages and Squidoo are they are well established web site. and 10 thousand of new contents added everyday, so Google robots do come back often and check their contents. Once they come and found there is a new article that links back to your site, the robots will follow it hence start to store in the search engine database.
(2) Gather links from relevant online forums.
When gather links, we always want to link some relevant resources that might help our readers so it is the best to gather links from relevant sources. One way of doing it is to search for online forums in your niche that allow you to put a “DO Follow” link with NO javascript or other form of redirect in the signature file. For instance, for “make money online” or internet marketing niche, search for any relevant forums such as internet marketing forums, domain forums, web hosting forums, seo forums, and so on will do. I will pick the top 10-20 most relevant results in the niche and sign up as a member one by one. But before you do that check:
- if other members have a link on the signature file. If it is the case, most likely the forum you interested allowed a link
- check the link if already indexed by Yahoo search engine by using an advanced command:
[quickcode] link:yourdomain.com site:SomeForumhere.com [/quickcode]. If there is a result returned, most like the link is indexed by search engine - check the page of that forum source code of the link you investigated above has rel=”nofollow” or rel_external=”nofollow” tags on. If it is the case, the search engine robots will not follow that link and you site will NOT be picked up fast nor affect its site search ranking. (see the follow picture for example)
Click to enlarge - similar to above, this time, check with if there is a redirect at that link as well. If there is a redirection, your link will not be get indexed as well
That’s about what I know for forum link building. One note is don’t gather links too fast as you may raise a red flag that Google thinks you are doing something naughty. I will say at the maximum 10 sites per day when you use forums to gather backlinks. You may also submitting articles to articles directories such as ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com, articledashboard.com or others high traffic articles directories to gather links. However, your articles have to be first get human approval before being listed. As for our purpose is getting your site index fast in Search Engines. Article directories submission should be your last resort of this strategy.
How Do you Know Your Site Got Indexed?
To know it basically type in the following command in Google search box for example:
[quickcode] site:xyz.com [/quickcode]
and if Google returned one of your web page as the result your site is indexed.

To rank your site higher in search engines, most SEO gurus will tell you there are 2 factors that affect site search ranking overall.
- On page factors
- Off page factors
On page factor basically means the keyword organization throughout the web page you wish to rank high for that keywords.
While off page optimization means how many websites that are referencing your site with the keywords you wish to rank.
Now when talk about link building, in the past, people will ask you for link exchange, meaning you go to a relevant website, send an email to webmaster and ask them to link back to you where I have put a link to their site. This strategies work until recently Google officially said in their webmaster guidelines stated stated “excessive reciprocal links or excessive link exchanging (“Link to me and I’ll link to you.”) will negatively impact your search engine ranking. Well what do you mean by excessive? How excessive is excessive. I am not sure but it indicates perhaps link exchange may not have the power as it used to be. I personally don’t exchange links with other webmasters and always look for one way links this will help my sites rank well in search engines and in fact you should always look for one way links as SEO link building strategies, why?
One way links may give more genuine sense then two ways artificial link exchange. Generally if you provide good content on your site, your visitors read, watch it, like it very much and they will put a link back somewhere on their sites or blogs referencing your content. So it is more genuine link in my opinion. However, in reality one way link can be artificially as well. Most of time when I’m building links, I always use forums, article directories and put a link back to my sites in the signature files or bio boxes with the keyword I wish to rank for. For example, if you want to rank for “SEO”, then you will use that keywords in your anchored text when doing linking with other websites.

This will do the trick all the times. Beside one way and link exchange, there are others link schemes and it is called 3 way links exchange. That one is actually a modified 2 ways link exchange scheme. To explain the concept let’s consider the following diagram:
In the above diagram, we create 3 sites, A, B and C. Then we create a 3 one way links from A to C, C to B and B to A, but C never links back with A nor B links back with C. The idea is always creating one way link between the network. You can further expand the network by creating site D…Z and links the site together in between. I tried once participating in a 3 ways link network and the results were good. Rank top 20 with a non competitive keywords within 3 months. Recently I read a question that asked how one can block a web page from being indexed by search engines, since I think it is a popular question and it will benefit to my readers so I decided to post my
answer here:
Generally there are 2 methods that you can block search engine accessing your web page, one is by adding a simple META exclusion tag on the web page and the other one is by using a robots.txt.
Now how exactly can you do this?
META robots exclusion
The second part “noindex” tells the search engine not to list, index or store your page in their database. The “nofollow” basically tells the search engine ignore any URLs that appear on your page.

The other method requires you to create another file named robots.txt (you have to name it exactly as I showed in ALL small letters for it to work) and upload it to your web server ROOT, home directory or home folder. You can use a notepad or any programmer style text editor (NOT MS office) to create that file. The format will looks like this:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /your-disallow-directory/your-disallow-file.html
Disallow: /your-disallow-directory-2/
etc
The big advantage of using robots.txt is you can actually hide the block search engines to access the entire web directory. Let’s say you have some digital products and the download page that only allow your customers to download. You place all the downloadable files into a separate directory. So you can block the whole directory with this bit of code :
or you can just block a particular page from accessing using this line:
Note the asterisk of the first line “User-agent: * ” means disallow all search engine robots. You can specify which search engines robots that you want them not to access your directories or web pages.
For example, if you don’t want Google to access you pages, you can use
“User-agent: Googlebot”
for Yahoo you can use
and for MSN, use:
beware of the capital letters of the robots name and also the directories or webpages name, since they are case SENSITIVES!

Not every sites are created to have the same users and also some are created to target specific niches outside of “Internet marketing” or “make money online“. Therefore, when you go and sign up, it’s better to spend a minute or 2 to determine if it the sites allow your target niche to be on their bookmarks.
Finding high traffic bookmarking sites
You can find the high traffic sties by a hard way and by an easy way. The hard way, you log on to traffic statistic sites such as Alexa.com and search for the bookmark sites ranking (note: Alexa displays sites that they believes to have highest numbers of visitors as rank 1, the second most visit web sites as rank 2 and so on. In other words the higher the number, the site is believed to have more numbers of visitors but it is not accurate and should act it as a reference.)
The easy way is use a social bookmark tools like Social Poster or Social Marker which contains the site information such as Google Page Rank and Alexa ranking. Also you can “preset” your blog post title, description, and URLs to the Social Marker or Social Poster then you can post your blog posts to various sites. The benefits for that is your blog post will gain publicity and therefore increase your chance of getting referrals.
The most effective bookmark sites that get traffic so far by experience from “make money online” niche are Digg, StumbleUpon, Delicious, Technorati, and Propeller. They seems are the most popular bookmark sites and can drive most traffic to your sites. So be sure you signed up those sites and book mark your post using either Social Poster or Social Marker today.
