Traffic, traffic, traffic. It is the thing that many bloggers want and many bloggers have been wondering. They are waiting, waiting and waiting, traffic simply do notcome. So how can you as blogger get more traffic
though. Today, as a blogger in past two years, I want with you some of my findinigs and experience
that I’ve learned from various courses online such as Atomic Blogging by Alvin Phang and Blog Mastermind
by Yaro Starak.

Tactic #1: You need targeted auidences.

Most bloggers start a blog and write whatever they want to tell the world about their thoughts, opinions and what’s more they just write the things that have happened in their lives, Well there’s nothing wrong but how many people will interest reading in your topics? For example if you are just talking about yourself, unless you are a celebrity like Brad Pitt, NBA star Kobe Bryant or Leborn James, then I will say no one will interest your own personal stuffs at all. So what you have to do? Write a topic that many people will interest
in, and when they look for the topics on the web then they will simply click into your blog and have a read.

Tactic #2: Constant update of your blog

Constant fresh update is a key of returning visitor (hence traffic). People love to read fresh contents (just like newspaper). If your readers find interesting fresh article every time they read your blog, they will
simply bookmark it and come back again. As a rule of thumb, you should plan to have 3 articles per week to start with your new blog.

Tactic #3: Learn how to do SEO yourself

SEO stands for search engine optimization and it is a way to boost your blog ranking for some keywords when users key in the search engine.

As there are many articles about SEO in the Internet but I will only pick up a few and follow since many claims that they know SEO but have no proven track record that they really know what they are talking about, so I suggest you to only learn from the true professionals such as

1.) Allen Wall’s SEO book or
2.) Kalena Jordan’s SEO course

Tough there is a SEO section in Alvin’s Phang Atomic blogging or Yaro Starak’s Blog Mastermind, I think you should learn from the expert to clear the myths out rather follow those guys.

Tactic #4: Have a email subscriber form and collect your readers’ email and first name

Email marketing is a great way to generate free traffic for life provided you do it properly. By properly I mean you should have an optin form (a form to collect readers’ name and email) so that when you update your blog, you have give your subscribers an instant update. One of the way to get your readers willing to
surrender their contact details is to give away something that they will be interested. For example, like me, if you are doing make money blogging niche, you can give away nice looking wordpress templates to your readers so that they will subscribe to your list more willingly. This is the method I always use to get traffic since it is easy, fast and effective. Unless SEO, if you are targeted tough keywords such as mine, you probably need to wait months or years to get desired traffic you want.

Tactic #5: Register an account at Feedburner.
RSS is simple nice little tool to get your readers noticed when you have a new update on your blog. To register to a Feedburner, simply log into Feedburner.com and get your wordpress or blog feed redirect to the Feedburner’s client. The purpose of registering a feedburner account is simply Feedburner offers email
alternatives to your RSS feeds. So when you update your blog, it will generate an update to your subscribers and hence they can click back to your blog again.

Tactic #6 Drive more traffic from online forum message boards.

You should always participate in main fourms that are relevant to your niche. For example, if you are offering photography tips, you can participate into those main forums and have your blog link to the profile page. This is a nice way to get your blog noticed and it is free! So go and do it today!

There are many ways to get more traffic to your blog as well, but I will stop right here.

Those are the things I have learned from both Alvin’s Phang, Atomic Blogging and Yaro Starak’s Blog Master
Mind. You can simply order a copy by clicking the links
above.

There are so many new-age terms floating around these days. This especially applies to the Internet. Many old and young have trouble keeping up with all the changes and nuances our high-tech world has to offer. If you had said you were going to check your email account on a cell phone 20 years ago, obviously everyone would have thought you were mad. However, this is a brave new world we all share and it’s loaded with gadgets and mediums. Take voicing your personal opinion as example. While people do this through radio and tv, they now do it via internet. So if you ever question yourself; what exactly is blogging? It’s basically a way to vent your thoughts, emotions and opinions via the web. You have anything to say?

In actual facts, many took to the internet for blogging about their viewpoints. While anyone would have said, what is blogging merely five years ago, today it’s all the rage and in full effect. Now, ponder a few reasons you might want to start a blog. Now, hang on! We should establish some format first. Online websites like Blogger.com and WordPress.com allow you to sign up for free blogging accounts and start blogging about whatever you please. It is really that simple and straightforward. You can published it within minutes. Anyway, what would you prefer to blog about? Perhaps you want to start a blog on politics, religion, money making or movies. The choices are endless and they’re all yours.

Now, if you’re still not clear on what is blogging or what your motive would be to do it, you should consider the monetary gain. That’s right, you guess it correct! You can earn from blogging on the internet. Essentially websites such as Blogger.com, which is affiliated with Google, allows you to place relevant ads on your blogs. This in turn enables you to earn ad revenue whenever a web surfer clicks on one of the ads. This is mainly why many will want to create blogs in the first place. You can earn money with your knowledge and advice. At this point you no longer have to ask anyone; what is blogging? Now you are aware!

More about great internet business ideas

[ad#large_rect]

This is the last post of the year 2008 and I want to wrap what I have learned and what I have achieved in year 2008 as my journal of being an Internet marketer and what goals and vision that I am planning in year 2009.

What I have learned

Email Marketing

Build a list of email subscribers. This is the vital lesson that I have learned. I didn’t get a list when starting my online business venture or make money online thing. I did say in my couple of last post, without a list, I have to constantly look for places to advertise. I could try PPC advertising but Pay per click advertising can be tricky if you don’t master it properly. I did try once and twice. An estimate of spending of $1000 but only got $100 – $150 in returned! So email marketing is really cheap when compare to PPC advertising. You just need a professional autoresponder like Aweber which costs only $19 a month and you can have up to 500 subscribers in your database. If you convert only 1% in sales of a $17 product, you will make $85 which turns into $66 net profits. So think about if you want to start building a list or not.

If you want to learn how you can build a list, I have a product called list building tutorials which shows you step by step on how to get an email list subscribers easily.

Stand out in Affiliate Marketing World

We have told affiliate marketing is the most easy method when comes to making money online. But the truth: competition is fierce. You can promote that products and so does anybody else in the Internet marketing niche. So how do you stand out from the crowd? A relevant bonus that compliment with the merchant’s product always works the best. You can also dominate the search engine space by optimizing the products brand’s name with squidoo, hubpages, Google knowledge, Yahoo! 360, Blogger, Geocities etc. I have showed you once by doubling my results in Biggest Firesale Affiliate promotion and also 1waylinks promotion. Indeed I did make some money $697 commissions for biggest firesale and $66 commissions for 1waylinks.

Websites rank top 30 in Search engines

The other achievements or things that I have learned is having not just one websites but few websites that start ranking top 30 in search engines spaces. You know SEO involves in two processes, on page and off page. On page optimization is easy but off page is tedious. Forum link building, directories submission, article submissions etc you name it. I have tried many methods and it took me 10 hours to get 10 links per day. Not anymore when I’ve found 1waylinks.net. With about only 30 minutes of work per day, I can easily get 750 permanent one way links per month,
you can watch a video on how this work exactly.

Year 2009 Forecast

Blog Traffic Prosoncheng.com – 10,000 each month by the end of 2009. Set up my own services or products, get a list of 3,000 subscribers at least by the end of march. Set up a niche blog other Internet Marketing or make money online and much more.

Anyway thanks for reading and see you in year 2009!

Recent website flipping products have been slowly emerging from a few of the creative genius minds of the world’s internet entrepreneurs. As the internet slowly grows older and matures, the virtual real estate that is created around the world gains value. There is no end in sight and just as traditional real estate is still today a lucrative investment, web site flipping will prove to have the same longevity.

Not unlike flipping houses for profit, the site flip is becoming a very lucrative business for many individuals. Although flipping websites is nothing new, the tactics that are being discovered by a few of the more successful players are slowly being shared and taught to other ambitious wanna be site flippers.

There are few products available that teach this new trade well. There is one called ‘The Site Rush" that will be released in mid December 2008 that if rumours have it right, will be one of the finest teaching methods for this money making venture to date.

The product is the brain child of internet marketer Saj Purkayastha (widely known as Saj P). This is his first solo product, his past products, 4 Tier Annihilation Method and Affiliate Payload, he partnered with Alex Goad.

If the past successes of his well thought out releases are any indication, there will be a new wave of successful new site flipping virtual real estate agents on the rise in the very near future, on the road to perfecting the art of the site flip.

While make money blogging seems a popular topic these days, but why there are so many blogs out that can’t drive traffic and hence can’t make any money?

Before I tell you the reasons, first I would like to quote a story of what I read from Carlocab.com , a 16 year old kid who ranks top 10 in Google.com for the keywords “make money online“.

Reason #1:You are NOT Focused

I see many people start blogging and talk about just many things and hope they will get traffic and also some cash from adsense income. Well, the fact is you don’t. For example, most of readers come to read my blogs because they want to “make money online“. They certainly don’t want to read sports, the latest Xbox games review kind of thing here. Since my blog is not devoted to it and I don’t show I am an expert on that. Blogs success because the owners stay focus on their niche and they don’t talk any other thing. For example, John Chow one of the best Known blogger and also 6 figures blogger earner, because he stayed focus on his niche and be an authority of the niche by showing how much did he really make online.

So you need to stay focus and also be an authority on your chosen niche.

Reason #2: You are NOT committed

I know sometimes we are busy and in fact we are lazy to get writing going. But you need to have schedule on posting. You may choose once a week, twice a week or three times a week, like what I am doing now, but you need to stick to your schedule. As Yaro Starak another problogger taught me,
stick your posting at least once a week. Because your readers like fresh contents. A blog is just like publishing a weekly or a monthly magazine. People buy it because of the contents. If you don’t have fresh contents, no one will bother to come back since there are other blogs out there that have fresh contents and your readers just will forget about yours. Trust me, no fresh contents = traffic die eventually. I tried that in the past (not posting regularly) and I don’t want you to follow my footprints.

Reasons #3 You DON’T drive Enough Traffic to Your Blogs

After you have great contents, what’s next? Market it. Of course! But are you driving enough traffic to your blogs? My blogs got about 500 unique per months so far per month as you can see my quantast data. That’s not a lot but I am still receiving some adsense income from it (about $100). That’s not much but it’s a good start. My primary traffic source is natural search traffic, and also my email subscribers. I did also try social bookmarking but it only gives you a traffic boost in certain dates but won’t give you a long term as search engine does. So these days I really just concentrate on SEO and email marketing and that’s it! But whatever is your traffic source. Make sure you master it and implement your plan accordingly.

These are 3 reasons why most people fail on blogging. Next time I will show you how to get more ideas when you are out of topics on what to write so stay tuned!

There are basically two types of bloggers in the world – reporters and experts – and some people perform both roles (usually the experts, it’s hard for reporters to become experts, but it’s easy for experts to report).

If you have ever taken an Internet marketing course or attended a seminar specifically for beginners, you have probably heard about the two different methodologies. Whenever the business model is based on content, and if you blog for money then the model is based on content, people are taught to either start as reporters, or if possible step up as experts.

I’ll be frank; you want to be the expert.

Reporters leverage the content of the experts and in most cases people start off as reporters because they haven’t established expertise. Experts enjoy the perks of preeminence, higher conversion rates because of perceived value, it’s easier to get publicity, people are more likely to seek you out rather than you having to seek others out, joint ventures come easier, etc… experts in most cases simply make more money and attract more attention.

Most Bloggers Are Reporters

The thing with expertise is that it requires something – experience. No person becomes an expert without doing things and learning. Bloggers usually start out without expertise and as a result begin their blogging journey by talking about everything going on in their niche (reporting) and by interviewing and talking about other experts (reporting again).

There’s nothing wrong with reporting of course and for many people it’s a necessity at first until you build up some expertise. Unfortunately the ratios are pretty skewed when it comes to reporters and experts – there are a lot more reporters than there are experts, hence reporters tend to struggle to gain attention and when they do, they often just enhance the reputation of the expert they are reporting on.

Don’t Replicate Your Teacher

If you have ever spent some time browsing products in the learn Internet marketing niche you will notice a pattern. Many people first study Internet marketing from a “guru” (for lack of a better term). The guru teaches how he or she is able to make money online, and very often the view that the student gleams is that in order to make money online you have to teach others how to make money online.

The end result of this process is a huge army of amateurs attempting to replicate what their teacher does in the same industry – the Internet marketing industry – not realizing that without expert status based on a proven record and all the perks that come with it, it’s next to impossible to succeed.

Even people, who enjoy marginal success, say for example growing an email list of 1,000 people, then go out and launch a product about how to grow an email list of 1,000 people. Now I have no problems with that, I think it’s fine to teach beginners and leverage whatever achievements you have, the problem is that people gravitate to the same niche – Internet marketing – and rarely have any key points of differentiation.

How many products out there do you know of that all claim to teach the same things – email marketing, SEO, pay per click, affiliate marketing, and all the sub-niches that fall under the category of Internet marketing. It’s a saturated market, yet when you see your teachers and other gurus making money teaching others how to make money (and let’s face it – making money as a subject is one of the most compelling) – your natural inclination is to follow in their footsteps.

If the key is to become an expert and you haven’t spent the last 5-10 years making money online, I suggest you look for another niche to establish expertise in.

Report on Your Process, Not Others

The secret to progress from reporter to expert is not to focus on other experts and instead report on your own journey. When you are learning how to do something and implementing things day by day, or studying other people’s work, you need to take your process and what you do as a result of what you learn, and use it as content for your blog.

It’s okay to talk about experts when you learn something from them, but always relate it to what you are doing. If you learn a technique from an expert it’s fine to state you learned it from them (and affiliate link to their product too!) but you should then take that technique, apply it to what you are doing and then report back YOUR results, not there’s. Frame things using your opinion – your stories – and don’t regurgitate what the expert said. The key is differentiation and personality, not replication.

Expertise comes from doing things most people don’t do and then talking about it. If you do this often enough you wake up one day as an expert, possibly without even realizing how it happened, simply because you were so good at reporting what you did.

You Are Already An Expert

Most people fail to become experts (or perceived as experts) because they don’t leverage what they already know. Every person who lives a life learns things as they go, takes action every day and knows something about something. The reason why they never become an expert is because they choose not to (which is fine for some, not everyone wants to be an expert), but if your goal is to blog your way to expertise and leave the world of reporting behind you have to start teaching and doing so by leveraging real experience.

Experience can come from what you do today and what you have done previously; you just need to take enough steps to demonstrate what you already know and what you are presently learning along your journey. I know so many people in my life, who are experts simply by virtue of the life they have lived, yet they are so insecure about what they know, they never commit their knowledge to words for fear of…well fear.

Blogs and the Web in general, are amazing resources when you leverage them as a communication tool to spread your expertise because of the sheer scope of people they can reach. If all you ever do is talk to people in person and share your experience using limited communication mediums, you haven’t much hope of becoming an expert. Take what you know and show other people through blogging, and you might be surprised how people change their perception of you in time.

Reporting Is A Stepping Stone

If your previous experience and expertise is from an area you want to leave behind or you are starting from “scratch”, then reporting is the path you must walk, at least for the short term.

Reporting is a lot of fun. Interviewing experts, talking about what other people are doing and just being part of a community is not a bad way to blog. In many cases people make a career of reporting (journalism is about just that), but if you truly want success and exponential results, at some point you will have to stand up and proclaim yourself as someone unusually good at something and then proceed to demonstrate it over and over again.

Have patience and focus on what you do to learn and then translate that experience into lessons for others, and remember, it’s okay to be a big fish in a small pond, that’s all most experts really are.

Recently when I read an article from Can Blogging Create Passive Income? by Kenneth Koh, he did mention a point that I think worth while posting here,

Many years back, when the idea of internet marketing first started, there was a myth that says “Built it and traffic will come”. ‘it’ refers to a website.

People started building different kinds of websites, only to realize that their websites are only visited by ghosts.

Years later, history repeats.

The concept of blogging was introduced and everyone starts to blog. The myth now becomes “Blog and traffic will come”.

So how do you drive traffic to your blogs?

step 1:

Submit Your Blog to Technorati – a blog search engine

http://www.technorati.com/.

Step 2:

setup automatically ping services after your post is published

Get a full list of the ping services

to set up if you are wordpress, Login as admin
then settings -> writing -> update services.

Just copy and paste the list that you’ve found above
and press “saves changes”

Step 3:

Submit your intereting blog posts to social
bookmarking sites like Digg.com, Stumble Upon,
Delicious, Propeller, and Reddit.

Keep your title compelling and also write a short
description about your blog post.
E.g, Recently I have enabled my blog to have “do follow”
comment. If I want to submit the blog post, I will
write something like

“Gain backlinks from my blog by comment 5 times!”
We all know the benefit of do follow comment link,
I have enabled it and with definetly getting more
traffic. I am constantly building backlinks and it will
definitely gaining Page rank and traffic so start comment
now!”

step 4:

Submit your blog to some blog directories such as blogCatlog,
bloggeries and join their groups and discussions.
After you comment and made some post, leave your domain their
as signature

Step 5:

step up helper blogs on Xanga, wordpress, blogspot and link
back to your main blogs.

Step 6:

submit your articles to articles directories like Ezine articles,
goArticles, Articles Dashbroade, article base and link with your
main blogs in your author bio.

Step 7:

find a list of relevant blogs and comment on it.

There are other methods as well like submit your blog
Rss feed to feedburner, some Rss directories and increase
it blog traffic.

The above steps should keep you going
for a while

When a nofollow is on, the link isn’t going to count as much as a “dofollow” link in the eyes of search engines. It is essential if you want to rank your site higher in Google for a particular keyword. You know SEO actually is a 2 part processes: the so-called the on-page part and the off-page one.

On-page is something like putting your keywords you want to be found in search engines on your website copy whereas off-page is basically how many and the quality of other websites in the Internet are linking with your websites for the keywords you wanted to be found in search engines. So say for example, you want your website to be found by search engine users when they typed “weight loss stories”, you will put those words on your website Title and META tags and also you want other webmasters to link with your website using the keywords “weight loss stories”. OK? But when webmasters link with your website, they can actually do a trick on the HTML code so that that link will “NOT” affect your site search ranking. So how do they do that? They simply add rel=”nofollow” on the link code. You can actually see an example by logging to http://www.moneymakergroup.com/Tips-Building-Successful-t213404.html
then view the source code by pressing on the menu: “View->Page source” is you are using firefox or “view->source” if you are using IE. If you browse down the page, the first link you will see is “http://www.squidoo.com/whybuildalens”, if you check back to the source code, you will see something like that on the line:
<quickcode:noclick>
<a href=’http://www.moneymakergroup.com/redirect.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.squidoo.com%2Fwhybuildalens’ rel=’nofollow’ target=”_blank” onclick=”javascript:urchinTracker(‘/outgoing/www_squidoo_com’);”>

http://www.squidoo.com/whybuildalens</a>

</quickcode>

This is a typical example of nofollow of the link attribute.

Got a Site wide backlink with DoFollow enable

This blog currently has a page rank of 2 but it will be increasing and I’m expecting PR 4 2-3 months later. This is because I am currently building a lot of links with it. So what does that mean? you will
having links with your site if you comment enough. (not less than 10 in last 10 days)

So I encourage you comment here frequently. Questions? just post here!

Many people dream of blogging for profit, and this goal is not far beyond the reach of someone with average intelligence, a willingness to work hard, and a basic grasp of blogging technology. However, very few people manage to reap the profits they want from their blog. Most people who attempt to make money with their blogs do not succeed for two

reasons. Often, bloggers have unrealistic expectations of how fast their readership will grow and how much money they will make, and when these expectations are not met the disappointment can crush the desire to continue blogging. The other trap that many bloggers fall into has to do with lack of planning. If you want to turn a profit as a blogger, the key to success is to make a realistic plan and stick with it.

To succeed at blogging for profit, the main thing that you will need is a large readership. The higher your traffic, the more advertisers will agree to pay you. However, cultivating the regular visitors that you will need in order to make a profit isnt easy. As more and more blogs appear each day, having a great idea or a wonderful writing style is no longer enough to get attention. You need to be able to market your blog effectively.

Too many bloggers spend all of their time writing posts and almost no time marketing their project. To be certain, updating as often as you can is a great way to keep your blog high on blogrolls and high in blog search engines like technorati, and once your readers know that you update frequently they will return to your site on a regular basis. However, it does not matter how often you update if nobody is reading your page, so don’t skimp on the time that you spend drawing visitors to your site. To make your dreams of blogging for profit a reality, try decreasing your number of posts and using some of that time to draw new visitors by setting up link exchanges with other bloggers, making contacts in the blog community, and following other established modes of winning traffic.

Of course, even if you are a marketing genius or have a really great idea for a blog, success is not going to happen overnight. Building the kind of readership that blogging for profit requires takes time, and in all likelihood it will be at least several months before you are able to turn much of a profit. Try to stay committed to your blogging project during this initial rough period. To stay motivated, set goals for how often you will update and how many readers you want to attract, and then reward yourself for sticking with your plan.
