Traffic, traffic, traffic. It is the thing that many bloggers want and many bloggers have been wondering. They are waiting, waiting and waiting, traffic simply do notcome. So how can you as blogger get more traffic
though. Today, as a blogger in past two years, I want with you some of my findinigs and experience
that I’ve learned from various courses online such as Atomic Blogging by Alvin Phang and Blog Mastermind
by Yaro Starak.
Tactic #1: You need targeted auidences.
Most bloggers start a blog and write whatever they want to tell the world about their thoughts, opinions and what’s more they just write the things that have happened in their lives, Well there’s nothing wrong but how many people will interest reading in your topics? For example if you are just talking about yourself, unless you are a celebrity like Brad Pitt, NBA star Kobe Bryant or Leborn James, then I will say no one will interest your own personal stuffs at all. So what you have to do? Write a topic that many people will interest
in, and when they look for the topics on the web then they will simply click into your blog and have a read.
Tactic #2: Constant update of your blog
Constant fresh update is a key of returning visitor (hence traffic). People love to read fresh contents (just like newspaper). If your readers find interesting fresh article every time they read your blog, they will
simply bookmark it and come back again. As a rule of thumb, you should plan to have 3 articles per week to start with your new blog.
Tactic #3: Learn how to do SEO yourself
SEO stands for search engine optimization and it is a way to boost your blog ranking for some keywords when users key in the search engine.
As there are many articles about SEO in the Internet but I will only pick up a few and follow since many claims that they know SEO but have no proven track record that they really know what they are talking about, so I suggest you to only learn from the true professionals such as
1.) Allen Wall’s SEO book or
2.) Kalena Jordan’s SEO course
Tough there is a SEO section in Alvin’s Phang Atomic blogging or Yaro Starak’s Blog Mastermind, I think you should learn from the expert to clear the myths out rather follow those guys.
Tactic #4: Have a email subscriber form and collect your readers’ email and first name
Email marketing is a great way to generate free traffic for life provided you do it properly. By properly I mean you should have an optin form (a form to collect readers’ name and email) so that when you update your blog, you have give your subscribers an instant update. One of the way to get your readers willing to
surrender their contact details is to give away something that they will be interested. For example, like me, if you are doing make money blogging niche, you can give away nice looking wordpress templates to your readers so that they will subscribe to your list more willingly. This is the method I always use to get traffic since it is easy, fast and effective. Unless SEO, if you are targeted tough keywords such as mine, you probably need to wait months or years to get desired traffic you want.
Tactic #5: Register an account at Feedburner.
RSS is simple nice little tool to get your readers noticed when you have a new update on your blog. To register to a Feedburner, simply log into Feedburner.com and get your wordpress or blog feed redirect to the Feedburner’s client. The purpose of registering a feedburner account is simply Feedburner offers email
alternatives to your RSS feeds. So when you update your blog, it will generate an update to your subscribers and hence they can click back to your blog again.
Tactic #6 Drive more traffic from online forum message boards.
You should always participate in main fourms that are relevant to your niche. For example, if you are offering photography tips, you can participate into those main forums and have your blog link to the profile page. This is a nice way to get your blog noticed and it is free! So go and do it today!
There are many ways to get more traffic to your blog as well, but I will stop right here.
Those are the things I have learned from both Alvin’s Phang, Atomic Blogging and Yaro Starak’s Blog Master
Mind. You can simply order a copy by clicking the links
