This is the last post of the year 2008 and I want to wrap what I have learned and what I have achieved in year 2008 as my journal of being an Internet marketer and what goals and vision that I am planning in year 2009.

Email Marketing

Build a list of email subscribers. This is the vital lesson that I have learned. I didn’t get a list when starting my online business venture or make money online thing. I did say in my couple of last post, without a list, I have to constantly look for places to advertise. I could try PPC advertising but Pay per click advertising can be tricky if you don’t master it properly. I did try once and twice. An estimate of spending of $1000 but only got $100 - $150 in returned! So email marketing is really cheap when compare to PPC advertising. You just need a professional autoresponder like Aweber which costs only $19 a month and you can have up to 500 subscribers in your database. If you convert only 1% in sales of a $17 product, you will make $85 which turns into $66 net profits. So think about if you want to start building a list or not.

Stand out in Affiliate Marketing World

We have told affiliate marketing is the most easy method when comes to making money online. But the truth: competition is fierce. You can promote that products and so does anybody else in the Internet marketing niche. So how do you stand out from the crowd? A relevant bonus that compliment with the merchant’s product always works the best. You can also dominate the search engine space by optimizing the products brand’s name with squidoo, hubpages, Google knowledge, Yahoo! 360, Blogger, Geocities etc. I have showed you once by doubling my results in Biggest Firesale Affiliate promotion and also 1waylinks promotion. Indeed I did make some money $697 commissions for biggest firesale and $66 commissions for 1waylinks.

Websites rank top 30 in Search engines

The other achievements or things that I have learned is having not just one websites but few websites that start ranking top 30 in search engines spaces. You know SEO involves in two processes, on page and off page. On page optimization is easy but off page is tedious. Forum link building, directories submission, article submissions etc you name it. I have tried many methods and it took me 10 hours to get 10 links per day. Not anymore when I’ve found 1waylinks.net. With about only 30 minutes of work per day, I can easily get 750 permanent one way links per month,

Year 2009 Forecast

Blog Traffic Prosoncheng.com - 10,000 each month by the end of 2009. Set up my own services or products, get a list of 3,000 subscribers at least by the end of march. Set up a niche blog other Internet Marketing or make money online and much more.

Ok, my adsense income is increasing every day. I can’t say it is really great but I will be receiving my first check in January and on average I have $39 adsense income per month so far. It is also important to track up your ad placement using a custom channel tracking. The set up is simple as well. You basically logged in to your adsense account choose “adsense setup” -> channels -> “add new custom channels” and that’s it. That way you can easily track which ad are performing and which ads are not.

Top Paying Keywords

Sometimes you may hear about making money with high paying keywords. I personally haven’t try it, Joel said he did not recommend, I say you can try and see if it can make money or not. Even you can try using pre-made adsense sites and see if they can generate revenue for you. Both for the whole thing to work you need massive amount of traffic and lots of it. This is really no short cut, unless your site is about MP3 download or something, you are likely to get 100 unique visit per day on average. I do have a MP3 download site and it does have at least 100 unique visits since December 8 this year. (this was a new site and I bookmark it across different social networks and it hit 1000 visitors a few days ago and it is amazing!). So if you have this kind of site, then it will generate a lot of traffic for you definitely anyway, that’s it for today.

The final word of 2008

As the new year is approaching, my goal for next year is this blog will be going to achieve 10,000 unique visit in 6 months each month and I am inviting two to three experienced copywriters to write on here as guest blogger. Quality Inbound links are the key elements to succeed in any SEO campaign, but how do you actually determine if a site is worth getting links from or not? In this article, I am going reveal 8 important steps of determining if a website is bad neighborhood or not. But first let’s spend sometimes of looking what bad neighbor actually is?

What is A Bad Neighborhood Site?

A bad neighbor site is basically a website that sole purposes are to manipulate search engine ranking. It may be a link farm, a web directory or a “free for all links” website.

How do You Determine?

To determine if a site is a bad neighborhood, the first thing probably you can do is looking at their outgoing links profile. If many links listed are appeared to be “Off topic” (not relevant to their sites) and are adults, online pharmacies, gambling, loan repayments, kind of websites, I will NOT link or submit my sites to their sites, they most likely are kind of “spammy”.

The other things I will determine if a site is worth linking with is what their sites are about and study their site domain history. The reason is obvious I don’t to link with a site that doesn’t benefits their readers and also mine as well. Visitors will most likely to click on my link on their sites if I can keep it relevant. What do I mean by relevancy is if I build a link by submitting an article. Is the article I submitted relevant to my link? If I was talking about computer hard disk recovery on the article, and add a link about selling online gift cards, I will say they are not relevant. When you are building links, think of this way, “will it benefit for the site readers?” If you can answer “yes”. Then go ahead and do it.

Web Directories Submission

Some web directories only will just replicate their existence listing in their database, register a new domain, upload to a different server with a different network address then accept new listing. This kind of web directories consist nothing but duplicate contents. I will personally stay away from them. It is because it seems to me the website owner doing this for money only or to me they are in low quality as well.

Too Many Outgoing Links

If a site has many outgoing links but very few incoming links, they you have to ask yourself if the site is a high quality why there are so many people not linking with it? One way to check their incoming links are the use of Advanced yahoo search command like this one:

[quickcode] link:yourdomainhere.com [/quickcode]

where yourdomain.com is the site you want to check how many incoming links are there. If there are fewer incoming links than outgoing links of a given web page, then I will not bother to get a link for these websites.

So when you are gathering links from other websites make sure you stick with the “rules” that discussed above.
