Recently I come up with a site that gives away freely a wordpress twitter plugin that automatic update your account with you latest blog excerpt usually 140 characters long. But what is twitter? and how twitter can actually drives traffic to your site? Now let’s look at some brief introduction…

What is Twitter?

Twitter is a micro blogging service which sends updates of yourself (140 characters long) to others users who signed up and choose to receive them. How to drive more traffic

To drive more traffic to your website basically you write an excerpt about your lastest blog post, or products then send an email to your friends, colleagues, customers to join you via your twitter profile
e.g. http://twitter.com/proson

If you have a subscribers base you can just stick your twitter profile link as a signature to your emails,
you can also participate blog communities like blogcatalog and ask for twitter exchange.

There are plenty of ways that you can do it.

If you have wordpress blog, you can even get a free plugin where it sends an update to your twitter profile once there is a new post on your blog.

Today when I searched Google on how my domain name was doing, I found a quite interesting point that I want to share with you.

I don’t know how accurate it is by the Alexa ranking is right and in fact my traffic ranks dropped. Last time I checked was 720,000 something. Well but it doesn’t matter, since I am currently building links for this blog which I believe the traffic ranks will rise again in 3 – 6 months.

If you also check the date of my domain registration, it was last year August I think, but I didn’t work on the current project until December 2007. Thus about half a year, my Alexa ranking boost from 3 Million to now 838,000!

I didn’t really SEO my site, yes I did do some links building but the link building is minimum, so what are my secrets?

I did a lot of testing of this site. One time I social bookmark every post of my blog to almost 50 bookmarking sites, but I quickly learn this is NOT a good way and in fact I may label as a spammer!

So I stopped doing and my traffic did drop a bit. so what’s my secrets? I am not going to reveal it at the moment but sure I will reveal that after I have finished my experiment and give it away freely!
