some don’t let you advertise at all. So it is advised that you don’t register on forums and posting your referral links immediately. (and in fact most forums do not allow affiliate or referral links at all!). So how do you drive traffic? Some forums let you put a link to the signature file. As I said most online forums do not allow affiliate links, the way to work around is to use an immediate site. The immediate sites can be your blog, a squidoo lens, a hubpage, any post on blogger, wordpress.com etc. Then you embedded your affiliate link on your blog post, so that if whoever read your article and click your link, you’ve a referral.

But before you do that, you need to make as many posts as possible on those “make money online” forums. Most people advise you go and answer other peoples questions as it will label you as a “guru”.
Also you can make posts that ask controversial questions such as which is better format when you email to your subscribers “HTML or plain text?”. This way your signature will be publicized and increase the chance of being clicked !

However you need to aware, forums are sensitive in spamming and advertising, so if the moderators found you advertise in the area that you don’t suppose to advertise, or you just repeat your post in various thread, most likely they will first warn you and/or ban you(depends on the forums rules). So be warned!

First login to one of your favorite social site such as Myspace.com and creates a profile with your pictures and your personal information such as hobbies, your current profession, people you would like to meet and etc. As an example: you can view my profile at MySpace. Note that I deliberately added Easter JV 2008 banner and the referral link in the profile image so that people will know this person is somewhat related to the site or the event.
2. Once you created your profile, go and join some related groups for example, our discussions, join groups that are related to “internet marketing”,”make money online”, “email marketing”, “affiliate marketing”, “seo”, “social marketing”, “blog traffic” and so forth. The idea is get to know each other, by participating their forums and add some friends for personal “one on one “activities.
3. Your daily routine should add 10 new friends on all the networks described above, join a new group and also communicate with your friends!

That’s about it for social networking. I recommend you first make sure your friend is interested in “internet marketing or make money online”, talk to them and see what level of “make money online experience do they have. If your give away event is a big one, such as special occasion one, (Easter, Christmas, New Year) , then you may try to persuade them to join as contributors. To other friends, may be you can leave them a referral link and see if they reply.

Safe lists, some said they are useless, some said they use them to generate lots of sign ups. So who is right, who’s wrong? Well no one! Safe lists were created at the time (during 90s) because email were relative new and free email systems like hotmail was just born. Every one was excited at that time that they could send email to thousands for free. They reasons why it is “safe” is because everyone was willing to receive emails from others and involve no law breaking! : ). Enough of the history. Now what credit based safe list is all about? The concept behind it is easy. You open up a member’s email, read it and at the end of the mail, there always is a credit earning link. So you click on it then you earn credits. Next you can send mailing to others members. Depends on your members level (free, paid), sometimes you can send your mail ads once a day, twice a day or once in 2 days etc.

During my last 2 months of experience of credit based safe list, I found they are good for free membership sites, leads generation, and giveaway events. I myself used some of the safe lists and found they bring quite amount of click through rate.
