    Reasons to Use Landing Pages

    Thursday, April 10th, 2008

The products you want to sell over the internet are all ready. You have even signed up with Google Adsense and other affiliate programs to earn more from your website. You are set on becoming the next big internet success. Is there anything else you failed to prepare? Perhaps you’ve already thought about almost everything but have you

considered having your own landing pages?

Basically, landing pages are web pages where the web visitors are directed to when they click on a particular ad. For merchant, the landing page is where you would want your prospect to be directed once they click on your ad found in an affiliate’s site. Most of the time, landing pages is almost similar to other web pages especially if the said website is actually an ecommerce website. Some businessmen decide to use their homepage as their landing page but the question is, are they making a mistake in this strategy? Using the homepage might be alright but if you want to achieve a greater impact, you need to create a landing page for your ads. You might be wondering what the reasons are for this; well, here they are:

    Earn through your conversion rate

There are many different kinds of affiliate programs available but the merchant needs to pay on a pay per click basis on most of these programs. All you need to do is to develop an affiliate program and submit your ad. The program owner will then distribute the ad to their affiliates who will post it on their websites. When your ad is clicked, you will need to pay the affiliate for the services he rendered.
For a merchant, the most important thing is affiliate conversions. That is, the amount of products the site visitors buy from your website. Without these sales, you will earn nothing from the said program. In addition, the more visitors the affiliate directs to your site, the larger your expense will become. You will only recover these expenses through conversions.
But the thing is, you will not get conversions without a landing page. Not having a landing page is akin to posting an ad without having a store where you can sell your product. Your advertisement might be attractive enough to motivate people to buy but it is through the landing page that they will actually discover how they can purchase the product.

Other web pages might not be enough

A lot of people make the mistake of directing customers to their home page or the contact us page. This is an incorrect strategy because homepages are designed to cater to a wide range of visitors. It also contains a lot of links to other web pages as well as other website. This also holds true for other web pages.

Your landing page should be relevant to what the customer have in mind. Because of this, they should be directed to the landing page with the right keyword and content on it. Your customers should be encouraged to make an actual purchase through the landing page.

    What is viral marketing?

    Monday, April 7th, 2008

    .

Viral marketing also known as word of mouth marketing in the offline world. The famous case for viral marketing may be hotmail offers first free email services back to the dates before it was sold to MSN. The term “viral” refers to the campaign spreading like a virus. Back to the case of Hotmail, the creator of the service thought they let their service advertised

itself by offering a free email service and at that time, there was no companies were offering such a service Also for every email sent to outside there was a link saying “Get your free Hotmail email account. Click here” Soon Hotmail had more than 100 million members!

    Successful Viral Marketing elements

To create a successful viral marketing campaign, according to Butterfly Manuscriptby Mike Filsaime, it has to be “Buzz worthy” What this means, basically something is worth while getting people to talk about. It may be a popular topics in a given period of time, something funny, controversial, new , easy to spread and most importantly what’s is it in for me (WIIFM)? . It will not spread if it is noting to do with anyone e.g. Free tips on saving you gas mileage.

An example of something worth while getting people to talk about: launch of Apple iphone, Ipod,
Nintendo Wii, Sony PSP, and so on.

Another successful case was what Burger King “discounted” their whoppers last year. Burger King created a buzz by telling their customers, whoppers their branded burger was discounted. Everyone was unhappy and thought Burger King management made a huge mistake. You can watch the video to see the action below:

What Burger King used controversy and happy with this campaign also, they have an option for you to send an email to your friend for video invitation and an option for you to embedded it to your website.
It did what I have discussed about, controversial, funny, easy to spread and anyone who goes to Burger King certainly cares about it.

Later I will show you more viral marketing case studies and also places which you can make money online by ready made viral ebooks or reports that you can use.

Learning How to Make Money Blogging

    Saturday, April 5th, 2008

There are two major types of business models that entrepreneurs use to make money blogging. The first and most common way to turn a blog into a profit making machine is to sell advertising to different companies and brands who want to reach that blog’s readers. The second kind of money making blog is one that helps a single brand improve its image by creating

positive associations between the blog and the product in the mind of consumers. Both kinds of blogs can make a lot of money, especially if the creator has a keen mind for marketing.

If you are blogging with the goal of selling advertising, there are two basic ways that you can go about
recruiting sponsors who want to put ads on your site; you can let someone else do all of the legwork, or you can do the work yourself and keep all of the revenue. Within the first group, many people make money blogging by selling space through Google’s AdSense program. The advantages of this program are numerous, as it requires very little effort on the part of the blogger or webmaster to begin raking in profits. However, most people discover that they make less money through this
method than they had hoped that their blog would earn.

Selling advertising directly to companies who want to put banner ads or sponsored links on your blog can take quite a bit of time, but it is often fairly lucrative. If you have a lot of contacts in industries that are related to the topic of your blog, you may want to try to go this route. People who have a strong background in sales and are experienced at pitching proposals can make quite a bit
of money by renting blog space to interested companies. The most serious problem with this model is that you often have to build quite a sizable readership before you can attract advertisers, which can mean that you have to do several months of work before you start to make money blogging.

As blogging becomes a more and more lucrative business, a lot of established companies are considering how they can get into the action. One way that companies are capitalizing on the blog movement is by having blogs that provide a kind of friendly face for their corporation. Often, a company will employ an established blogger to create a weblog designed specifically to appeal to that company’s customers and to create positive associations with the brand in consumers’ minds. More than one writer who never even dreamed that he or she could make money blogging has been approached by a company and offered quite a pretty penny for this kind of gig.
